AMLA DAL

Amla is rich in iron and vitamins. Regular intake of amla helps in digestion, it also brings glow to the skin and hair. It also prevents premature grey hair.

INGREDIENTS:
Toor dal ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ1 cup
Tomatoes ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ1 cup (finely chopped)
Amla ᅡᅠᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ10
Green chillis ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ4
Turmeric ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠa pinch
Slat ᅡᅠᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠas per taste
TAMPERING/ THADKA/ SEASONING:
Black gram dal ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ1 Tea Spoon
Mustard seedsᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠᅡᄑ Tea Spoon
Cumin seeds ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠᅡᄑ Tea Spoon
Garlic clovesᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ4
Dry red chillis ᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠ2
Curry leavesᅡᅠᅡᅠ-ᅡᅠfew

PROCESS:
1.ᅡᅠWash and place the Toor dal in a pressure cooker.
2.ᅡᅠPutᅡᅠ the tomatoes and amla (by removing seeds inside them) separately in another bowl along with green chillis and turmeric
3.ᅡᅠAdd some water and cook up to 3 whistles till the dal turns soft
4.ᅡᅠLet it cool and remove the cooker lid an mash the dal
5.ᅡᅠAdd sufficient salt to it.
6.ᅡᅠNow take a pan and heat some oil in it.
7.ᅡᅠWhen it becomes hot add black gram dal , mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them splutter
8.ᅡᅠWhen they starts splutter add red chillis, garlic cloves and curry leaves and saute
9.ᅡᅠAdd this seasoning to the dal.
10.ᅡᅠMix well and serve with rice or roti
