BACHALI KURA PAPPU

INGREDIENTS:

Toor dal    – 1 cup
Sorrel spinach   – 2 bunches
Tomatoes    – 2
Green chillis   – 4
Garlic flakes   – 8-10
Turmeric    – a pinch
Salt      – to taste
FOR SEASONING:
Oil    – 1 Table Spoon
Mustard seeds   – ½ Tea Spoon
Cumin seeds  – 1 Tea Spoon
Dry red chillis  – 2
PROCESS:
1. Soak the Toor dal in a bowl for 30 minutes.
2. Clean the Sorrel spinach in water till all the mud is cleared out.
3. Pressures cook the dal along with Sorrel spinach, turmeric and tomatoes.
4. Once the dal is done, open the cooker and mash the dal by adding salt.
5. Take a frying pan and heat oil in it.
6. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.
7. Add the green chillis, red chillis and hing and saute
8. Finally add the seasoning to the dal and mix well.
9. Sorrel Spinach is ready to serve
10. Serve with hot rice and ghee. You can serve this with chapattis also.
