Kajjikayalu is a traditional sweet which is very famous specially in Andhra Pradesh for every festive season. it tastes great and gives you great excitement while tasting it. Let us know how to prepare this tasty Kajjikayalu at home.


Maida – 1/2 kg
ghee – 4 Table Spoons
oil – for deep frying


Grated coconut – ½ cup

Sooji – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Green cardamom powder – 1 Tea Spoon
Cashews – 15 (chopped)

– 5-6( chopped)



  1. Pour the ghee in the Maida and mix well, then make dough that is not too soft by adding cold water and knead.
  2. In a wok, heat some ghee and roast the grated coconut till is pink in color.
  3. Take it off and roast the sooji in the same vessel.
  4. Powder the sugar and mix sooji, coconut, cardamom powder and dry fruits with it.
  5. Now roll small thin puris of the dough and fill in this mixture.
  6. Fold the stuffed puris so as to form a half moon and seal well.
  7. Deep fry them till they turn golden color
  8. Now the tasty , tasty Andhra special kajjikayalu are ready to taste
  9. Take in to the serving plate and serve hot
