Mustard Fried Chicken

Chicken wings are seasoned with a delicate mixture of spices, then coated in mustard and floured before being fried until crisp.

Cooking Time – 15 mins

INGREDIENTS:

Chicken wings – 1 kg[separated at joints]
Garlic powder – 2 tbsp
Seasoned salt – 1 tbsp
Onion powder – 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder – 2 tbsp
Yellow mustard – 3 tbsp
All purpose flour – 3 cups
Oil – 500 ml

PROCESS:

1. Season the chicken wings on both sides by sprinkling with seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper.
2. I like to lay it all out on a big plastic bag for
easier clean up.
3. Coat each piece with a thin layer of mustard.
4. You may use a basting brush or your fingers. Put the flour into a plastic bag, add the chicken, and shake to coat.
5. Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or deep heavy skillet to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
6. When the oil is hot, add the chicken and cook for 6 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear.
7. Drain on paper towels, and cool for 5 minutes before serving.
