Mutton Biryani

Mutton biryani is one the famous dish in India and it is very delicious and tasty.

INGREDIENTS:
Mutton – 500gm
Rice – 2 cups
Onion{thinly chopped} – 1-2
Ginger pieces – 1inch
Cloves – 4-6
Cinnamon pieces – 1inch
A few flakes of garlic
Coriander powder – 3tsp
Green chillies{cut into 2} – 3-5
Chilli powder – 1tsp
dried coconut powder – 2-3tsp
poppy seeds – 1tsp
Cardamon – 4-6
Curd – 1cup
Salt to taste
ghee – 50ml

PROCESS:
1.Clean and cut meat. Soak in curd.
2.Roast and powder cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and peppercorns.
3.Grind together red chillies half the onions, ginger, garlic and green chillies and copra. Heat ghee.
4.Add sliced onions. Add ground spices and fry.
5.Add meat. fry well. Add ground poppy seeds.
6.Add remaining curds and salt and cook gently till meat is tender.
7.Add powdered spices. Remove from fire.
8.Slice onions. Heat ghee. Fry onions and remove. Add spices.
9.When they crackle, add rice and fry for a few minutes longer.
10.Add salt and double the quantity of hot water.
11.When rice is cooked and all moisture has evaporated, remove from fire.
12.Make a layer of rice in a pan, sprinkle with saffron water, place meat layer over it and again cover with rice.
13.Serve hot, garnished with fried onions and fried nuts.
